Department of Zoology

The Department of Zoology was established in 1956 after the college was shifted from the campus of Government VictoriaGirl’s Higher Secondary School, Chittur. The Department was started under the Headship of Professor Anna Vareed and three teaching faculties. The Department offers Bachelor of Science in Zoology for the last 66 years and has produced a total of over 1500 graduates. The Department has a strength of four teaching faculties and two lab attenders. The sanctioned strength of students to be admitted in the programme is 24. The Department has a well maintained and attractive museum with rare collections of more than hundred zoological specimens spread over an area of 1000 sq ft.
