KSWDC WOMEN CELL, GOVERNMENT COLLEGE CHITTUR

 

KSWDC Women Cell, Government College Chittur has been organizing various programmes to sensitize its stakeholders on various gender issues. Apart from spreading awareness on women’s rights, Women Cell aims at empowering and orienting women to recognize their true potential and to help them become self reliant. Women Cell ensures the participation of  all students in its activities in order to spread maximum awareness about issues related to gender. The targeted group includes all UG, PG students, women from nearby community and primary and secondary level students of nearby schools.

 ACTIVITY REPORT OF WOMEN’S CELL AND WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CELL DURING 2021-2022

Programme: 1-Gender Sensitization Workshop- 06/11/2021

 

The one- day workshop was led by Dinu Veyil, Research Scholar and Founder Dhisha. 54 students participated in the workshop. This workshop addressed the basic requirement to understand the sensitive needs of a particular gender. It helps participants  to examine their personal attitudes and beliefs and question the ‘realities’ that they thought they know.  Recent discourses focus upon the need to sensitize gender issues on campus as many believe that education is the catalyst for change. This workshop successfully instilled positive thoughts on gender issues and encouraged them to stop practising gender discrimination.

 

Programme 2-Legal Awareness  Class. 10/11/2021

 

Women Cell organized a legal awareness class for students. More than 150 students attended the session led by Adv. Shanmugeshwari.  The talk and discussion helped to  impart practical knowledge about the basic legal rights and remedies provided under various women related laws, thereby making them fit to face the challenges in real life situations. It also helped to  make students aware of the various machineries/organs of the Justice delivery system available for redressal of their problems/grievances, the procedure of approaching and utilizing various channels available for the redressal of grievances i.e. the Police, the Executive and the Judiciary, the role of courts in achieving gender equality, most importantly the concept of public interest litigation, the role of District Legal Service Authority, Free Legal Aid and Lok Adalats.

Besides the session helped to sensitize students about their Rights as provided under the various laws including the Indian Penal Code, 1860; the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961; the Prevention of Domestic Violence to Women Act, 2005 etc.

 

Programme 3- Re- Dress Eduacation, Talk and Discussion on Gender Neutral uniforms  in Schools.

 

Dr. Yakob Thomas, Assistant Professor , KKTM Govermnent College , Pullut spoke on the “ Politics of Dress”. A panel of students from various departments spoke on different aspects of dress and how educational spaces mould students as boys or girls and fix them into acceptable gender models.

 

Programme 4-Poster Campaign in connection with Anti- Dowry Day and International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. 26/11/2021

 

Women Cell organized a poster campaign to spread awareness on violence against women. Students made posters and placards on the theme “Violence isn’t just Physical” and exhibited them at Vanajam. Ms. Vidya, Counsellor, Jeevani addressed the students and teachers.

 

 

WOMENS DAY CELEBRATION ON 08/03/2022

 

 അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര വനിത ദിനത്തിൽ ഗവ.കോളെജ് ചിറ്റൂർ, KSWDC വിമൻസെല്ലിൻ്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ വനിത സംരംഭകരുമൊത്ത് ഒരു സംവാദവും ആദരിക്കൽ ചടങ്ങും ഒരുക്കുന്നു.മാർച്ച് 8 ,ഉച്ചക്ക് 1.30 ന് നടക്കുന്ന പരിപാടി, പ്രിൻസിപ്പാൾ ഡോ.വി.കെ അനുരാധ അവർകൾ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യും. ഡോ. ഷിനുജ മോൾ (Assistant Professor of Hindi Department)  നയിക്കുന്ന ചർച്ചയിൽ  ദീപ ജയപ്രകാശ് ( Motivational Speaker, Principal,Sri Sathya Sai EMS), അമുദ സുകുമാർ (Thilakkam Bridal Studio, Palakkad), സംഷീന, Delight Cakes(3rd year B.Com student,Govt.College Chittur), സ്നേഹലത. സി( Eazy Moves Fitness Centre, Palakkad), ലിസ ചാക്കോ(Liz Creations, Palakkad) എന്നിവർ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു. കുടുംബവും തൊഴിൽ മേഖലയും ഒരുമിച്ച്  കൊണ്ടു പോകുന്ന സംരംഭകരായ സ്ത്രീകൾ നേരിടുന്ന പ്രധാന വെല്ലുവിളികളെക്കുറിച്ചും അവരുടെ അനുഭവങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും നമ്മോട് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതായിരിക്കും. പരിപാടിയിൽ എല്ലാവരും പങ്കെടുക്കണമെന്ന് അഭ്യർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ചിറ്റൂർ ഗവ. കോളേജ്, KSWDC  WOMEN CELL പുറത്തിറക്കുന്ന കയ്യെഴുത്തുമാസികയിലേക്ക് വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളിൽ നിന്നും അധ്യാപകരിൽ നിന്നും കലാസൃഷ്ടികൾ ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നു.
‘ *ജൻഡർ* ‘എന്ന വിഷയത്ത ആസ്പദമാക്കിക്കൊണ്ട് കഥ, കവിത, അനുഭവകുറുപ്പ്, കാർട്ടൂൺ മുതലായ സർഗാത്മക സൃഷ്ടികൾ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നതാണ്.ഏതു ഭാഷയിലും രചനകൾ എഴുതാവുന്നതാണ്.
മാർച്ച്‌ 20 ന് മുൻപായി കലാ സൃഷ്ടികൾ മലയാളവിഭാഗം അധ്യാപിക ശ്രീപ്രിയ ടീച്ചറെ ഏൽപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.
